Hello, my name is Kars, also known as Velo. I’m a producer and DJ. Born in the Netherlands and raised by my mom and dad. When I was young I went to music school and learned how to play keyboard and guitar.
I continued my musical journey when I discovered that music can be created on a laptop with simple plugins and samples. I started producing at the age of 15 and ever since I’ve learned a lot by making music.
Since september 2018 I’m studying MediaMusic at ArtEZ University of Arts in Enschede. This study is about music production but also about profiling yourself in a market where the competition plays a major role.
For me music is a language which can contain a simple message, a very complicated one or even a very vague message. Music is a tool or a way to tell something with other things than words.
Thinking about music like this helps me to make music in very different ways. I don’t make music in the same style over and over again. I’ve produced tracks in different styles just because I don’t feel the same every time I’m hitting the studio.
So in the end every track I produce is different and has it’s own unique message.
